Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Pricing Manager that works in a global capacity with various stakeholders within Business, Operations and Finance. This candidate will play an integral role in executing the pricing activities to drive growth and profitability for Husky businesses – not limited to Rigid Packaging Business. Responsible for supporting the development of pricing strategies, implementing effective pricing processes, preparing detailed analysis, identifying trends, measures and controls.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with Business Leaders to understand business objectives and select an appropriate pricing strategy to support those goals
- Implement targeted pricing actions across segments to proactively maximize profit (Creatively develop competitive advantage through innovative pricing concepts)
- Develop and execute pricing strategies by product category, geographic region and end-market
- Utilize data to develop more effective pricing approaches to achieve price improvement while drive growth and profitability
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
- Provide pricing recommendations and participate in strategic and tactical negotiation planning and execution
- Develop pricing models, processes and deployment across organizations (Build value/financial models, assist business to make decisions on setting and changing pricing, aligned with the customer value, costing structure and business strategy)
- Negotiate and influence internally to encourage adoption of pricing structures and strategies
- Assess existing pricing processes, streamline and implement standard pricing processes globally
- Facilitate approval of all discounts that exceed Sales authority
- Develop and maintain internal controls over the pricing activities to ensure compliance
- Track and report pricing trends on a regular basis. Closely monitor competitor pricing activity through sales team and customer feedback as well as business performance indicators
- Identify requirements for regional pricing variations working with regional sales teams and develop plans accordingly
- Continuously review individual pricing elements and pricing portfolio for opportunities to simplify the customer experience and sales presentation
- Implement process and tools to automate pricing activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelors equivalent in an Engineering, Finance or other related Business discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience with a minimum 5 years progressive experience in a pricing/sales/sales support, business development or related finance role for a mid-size or global organization
- Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills and the ability to think outside the box (Strategic thinker, Self-Starter and Results Oriented)
- Excellent business acumen
- Advanced Excel skills, PowerPoint and ERP knowledge
- Process and project management skills from development to implementation
- Ability to lead and work in cross-functional teams, across multiple geographies
- Ability to make recommendations in an environment of uncertainty and ambiguity
- Accustomed to an extremely fast-paced environment, requiring balancing of immediate tactical responses with long term strategic planning
- Ability to negotiate and influence
- Strong interpersonal and excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Injection Molding and/or Rigid Packaging product is an asset
- Fluent in English
- Additional language skills considered an asset
