10 Employees All Started in the Same Room. 30 Years Later, those 10 Employees are Still at Husky

More than 30 years ago, 10 different employees started their careers in the same room at Husky.

The molds test room was where new concepts were tested and refined before being delivered to customers. It was hands-on, fast-paced and often unpredictable. Problems came up. Solutions had to be found. Most of the time, that happened at the same time and had to be solved together as a team.

Over 30 years ago, they were just 10 young professionals starting their career in the same place and at the same time. No one thought about what the next 30 years would look like and how their career journeys would continue to intertwine. But they did.

Not in the same roles. Not on the same paths. But connected by the same starting point and the same company.

Today, every one of those 10 original team members are still employees at Husky. Successful and still going strong.

Where It All Began

In the early 1990s, the injection mold industry was moving quickly. Demand was growing and expectations were rising. Husky was pushing performance and setting new benchmarks.

Starting in the test room meant learning by doing.

“The test room is where everything comes together,” Steve explains. “You see how each step of the process connects before the product reaches the customer.”

There was no standing to the side or stepping back. People got involved, asked questions, tried different options, fixed what did not work and kept going. That environment built their confidence early.

An Opportunity of a Lifetime

For many of them, that first experience shaped how they approached their careers.

“What stands out most is the people,” Steve says. “Working with passionate teams who cared about quality and knew our customers expected the best.”

That collaborative mindset stayed with them. As they moved into new roles and took on new challenges and as their careers developed across different areas of the business.

From Then to Now

Those early days felt very different with more trial and error and less organization.

“It felt like the wild west,” Steve recalls. “We were figuring things out as we went.”

Today, the environment is more structured. Knowledge is shared and processes are well established. The foundation, however, feels familiar. Curiosity. Collaboration. A willingness to step in and make things work.

What Made the Difference

10 people. Same starting point. Still here decades later.

For Steve, the explanation is simple: “Husky has always been a place of opportunity. You need to step forward and embrace change.”

Each of them took a different direction. Some focused on technical expertise. Others moved into leadership roles. All of them carried what they learned early on into the next stages of their careers. And they all still love working at Husky.

What This Means for You

This story speaks to what can happen at the start of a career.

“Interact with as many people as possible. Learn from one another and do not be afraid to try new things,” Steve says.

Growth does not always follow a straight line. It comes from experience. From trying. From learning in real situations. Sometimes from feeling uncomfortable and moving forward anyway. And from the connections you make from your very first day because you never know what will happen 30 years later. You never know.

Same Starting Point. Different Journeys.

The molds test room was just simple workspace but for these ten people, it became the beginning of something much bigger and lasting.

30 years later, they are still here. Still contributing. Still moving forward. Different roles. Different paths. Same beginning.
