Husky Launches HyCAP PRO™ – Redefining the Economics of High-Output Beverage Closure Manufacturing

Purpose-built as an extension of Husky’s proven HyCAP® platform, HyCAP PRO™ combines advanced injection molding, tooling, and system technologies to establish a new benchmark in speed, precision and closure economics.
Designed for high-volume beverage closure production, HyCAP PRO™ delivers up to 45% higher productivity than Husky’s traditional HyCAP® system in like-for-like applications and up to 15% lower energy consumption in equivalent applications. In a revolutionary development, closure free-fall is decoupled from the mold’s open-and-close motion, minimizing non-process time to enable faster cycles and higher output while maintaining the precision, repeatability, and part quality expected from Husky’s proven molding technology.

A new benchmark for high-output closure production
HyCAP PRO™ combines a 300-ton press with dual RS injection units and a 72-cavity closure mold in an integrated system optimized for high-volume production. By decoupling closure free-fall from mold motion, the platform eliminates traditional open-and-close cycle waste to increase output and improve efficiency.
Optimized for the latest generation of HDPE materials, HyCAP PRO™ supports resin throughput of up to 260 kg/h, with precise process control and consistent melt quality for reliable, repeatable closure production.
Engineered for lightweight closures and greater efficiency
Purpose-built for the tight tolerances and high cavitation demands of lightweight closures, HyCAP PRO™ combines precise process control with consistent quality at high production speeds. The system features dual RS injection units, a 500-microsecond scan rate, optimized hot runner technology, integrated resin feeding, and downstream equipment for high-throughput, repeatable production.
By eliminating the clamp stroke, HyCAP PRO™ delivers up to 15% lower energy consumption than traditional HyCAP® systems for equivalent applications, enabling reduced operating costs while increasing output.
Designed for uptime, reliability and simpler operation
Building on Husky’s proven closure molding technology, HyCAP PRO™ incorporates advanced tooling and intelligent system monitoring to maximize uptime and simplify operation. Features include Smart Start/Stop, Mold ID™, energy monitoring, extended service intervals and Husky Advantage+Elite™, which support reduced maintenance and unplanned downtime.
