This is a contract opportunity for up to 15 months.
The Global Manager of Corporate Communications and PR will spearhead Husky's public relations and internal communications. This role is integral to shaping the company's narrative and reputation, targeting key audiences, including the community, employees, potential employees, and the general public. As a member of the corporate business development team, this individual will lead the internal communications team and collaborate closely with marketing, human resources and investor relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a global PR strategy to enhance the company’s image and position in the marketplace.
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to maximize positive media coverage.
- Manage the company’s external communications, including press releases, media statements, and proactive media outreach.
- Proactively pitch stories, handle media inquiries, and organize press events to promote the company’s initiatives and thought leadership.
- Monitor media coverage and trends to identify opportunities for engagement and response.
- Act as a spokesperson when necessary and provide media training and guidance to other company spokespersons.
- Develop the company’s social media calendar in collaboration with the digital marketing team, focusing on engagement and reputation management.
- Public Relations and Media Management:
- Develop community outreach programs and manage communications that enhance the company’s reputation within the communities where it operates.
- Manage public relations efforts related to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and community engagement programs.
- Develop strategies to communicate the company’s impact and commitment to the community, supporting broader brand and reputation goals.
- Partner with the investor relations team to support communications aimed at investors, analysts, and the financial community.
- Community and Public Relations:
- Develop and implement crisis communication plans to protect and manage the company’s reputation during critical situations.
- Support the corporate communications team in managing crises by preparing media statements and ensuring accurate and timely information dissemination to the public.
- Assist in developing and maintaining crisis communication plans and protocols.
- Lead the internal communications team to drive employee engagement and ensure consistent and transparent communication across the organization.
- Design and implement internal communications initiatives that align employees with company values, goals, and key business updates.
- Collaborate with leadership and HR to effectively communicate changes, updates, and strategic initiatives within the organization.
- Establish metrics to assess the effectiveness of PR and internal communication efforts.
- Regularly report on communications outcomes and use insights to refine strategies.
- Track and analyze the effectiveness of PR initiatives using metrics such as media reach, engagement, and sentiment analysis.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a similar role, with demonstrated success in managing PR and internal communications.
- Proven track record of working with media and managing corporate reputation.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a team and working cross-functionally.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong ability to craft and convey compelling messages.
- Experience working in a public company and familiarity with investor relations communications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
