From Internship to Impact: How Nico Turned Opportunity into a Career at Husk
At Husky Technologies™, we know that early experience can lead to long-term success, especially when curiosity, initiative, and adaptability come into play. Just ask Nico, who joined the company as an intern and now works full-time in our Purchasing Department at the Luxembourg campus.
His journey shows what’s possible when a company invests in young talent and when that talent rises to the occasion.

A Fresh Start in a New Industry
Nico began his internship at Husky in January 2022. Having just completed his degree in purchasing and supply chain, he was eager to apply what he’d learned in a real-world setting.
“I didn't know this industry at all when I started,” he says. “But I was immediately drawn in by the complexity and technical challenges.”
From the very beginning, Nico was given meaningful tasks, including supplier communications, negotiations, and project follow-ups. What started as an internship quickly became something more.
Standing Out as an Intern
So how do you turn an internship into a permanent position? For Nico, it came down to three things: engagement, reliability, and mindset.
“I always tried to be involved and curious,” he explains. “Even if I didn’t know something, I made the effort to learn quickly.”
His manager and team took notice. By the end of his internship, Nico had proven he was dependable, proactive, and a good cultural fit for the team. Shortly after, he was offered a full-time position.
Growing into the Role
Today, Nico works as a Buyer and continues to learn every day. His role includes managing supplier relationships, placing orders, solving daily issues, and helping optimize our sourcing strategy.
“What I love most is that I never do the same thing two days in a row. There are always new challenges, new problems to solve, and opportunities to improve how we work.”
He also values the relationships he’s built both internally and externally.
“The team here is supportive and open, and you’re given space to grow. I’ve learned so much from my colleagues.”
Advice for Future Interns and Apprentices
Having made the leap himself, Nico now has a few words of advice for anyone starting an internship or apprenticeship:
- Ask questions – “It shows you’re engaged and willing to grow.”
- Be reliable – “Do what you say you’ll do. People will trust you.”
- Be patient – “Learning takes time. What matters is your attitude.”

From Intern to Teammate
For Husky, investing in early talent like Nico isn’t just about filling roles — it’s about shaping the future of our company with people who are passionate, curious and ready to grow.
“I didn’t expect to find my place so quickly, but I’m proud to be here. Husky gave me a chance, and I made the most of it.”
