Job Overview

In this role, you will provide on-site technical support for Husky employees primarily within our Bolton Campus.

Support is provided to mainly campus based and remote workforce users and includes supporting all hardware, software, networks, and peripheral equipment.

As part of the Corporate IT Service Desk team, you will need problem solving skills, communications, interpersonal skills, and time management skills, along with patience and a customer and team friendly attitude.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answers incoming end user telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on priority.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email.
  • Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction
  • Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware and software
  • Prepare PCs for deployment to end users, organize and schedule deployment time along with assisting the end user to transfer all their data and re-install software manually as required.
  • Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required
  • Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software.
  • Ensure each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, and any additional specialized equipment.
  • Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory.
  • Collaborate with members of other peer IT teams, subject matter experts and vendors to resolve technical issues for end users


 

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing Diploma in Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems, network configurations, and troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of computer networking concepts, active directory.
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a pleasant demeanor and a strong sense of customer service.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as installing devices, and to lift up to 30 lbs. safely.
  • Proficiency in identifying, using, and connecting hardware components and devices.
