Husky introduces Shotscope NX software to improve productivity and minimize downtime
For release 2009-06-08
Bolton, Ontario - Husky Injection Molding Systems today announced the launch of Shotscope® NX, an integrated process and production monitoring system that provides expedited information to help manufacturers control processes and improve productivity while minimizing scrap and downtime. The Shotscope NX system is part of Husky’s expanded Services offerings and is designed to help customers run a more sustainable operation by maximizing efficiencies throughout a system’s life cycle.
Shotscope NX is a monitoring software that helps manufacturers characterize and report on production and process statistics at both the discrete systems and plant-wide levels. By providing real-time monitoring and analysis, it helps manufacturers simplify reporting, improve data flow and coordinate more efficient plant scheduling. This contributes to decreased cycle times, reduced machine downtime and more consistent, better quality parts. In addition to the ability to work on any machine or ancillary piece of equipment in the plant, manufacturers have a true one-stop source of reliable information to improve real-time decision making.
“At NPE, we are excited to demonstrate how our Services offerings can help customers develop solutions that will allow them to be more successful in the long-term, both from an environmental and business perspective,” said Jeff MacDonald, Husky’s Vice President of Marketing. “You can’t act on information you don’t have. Shotscope NX provides manufacturers with the most important data to help them improve operational efficiency and part quality. By making information more readily available, customers can be more proactive in maximizing productivity and streamlining operations.”
The Shotscope NX system will be on display at the Husky booth (S36009) at NPE 2009 (Chicago, June 22 – 26). Expanding on the company’s existing Shotscope system, Shotscope NX offers several improvements. In addition to an enhanced user interface, the software is web-based, allowing users to access information from anywhere and at any time. Data can be gathered from more collection points, making it more precise and easier to handle. It is also compatible with any brand of equipment and is able to connect with both PDA and webcam services.
