Husky Introduces ALTANIUM MATRIX2™ hot runner controller at Chinaplas 2014 for 2 to 254 zones
BOLTON, Ontario - Husky Injection Molding Systems today announced a new addition to its family of hot runner temperature controllers with the introduction of ALTANIUM MATRIX2™. Providing additional functionality to the ALTANIUM NEO2™ and ALTANIUM DELTA3™ controllers, ALTANIUM MATRIX2™ offers an integrated, intelligent platform for 2 to 254 zones of control and helps customers achieve improved part quality and increased uptime.

ALTANIUM MATRIX2™ is equipped with a variety of enhanced features to improve operational efficiency. An improved, highly intuitive navigation method coupled with a large, full color 19” touchscreen shortens the learning curve for new users and ensures fast and consistent start-ups. Automatic storage and recall of set-ups ensures the same processing parameters are always used for a mold. Multilingual support increases user adoption while historical event auditing and enhanced process monitoring enables faster, more accurate troubleshooting.
Mold Control solution
Built on a scalable platform that is designed to grow with molders’ needs, ALTANIUM MATRIX2™ provides more than temperature regulation; it includes optional integrated control of the electrically actuated ULTRASYNC-E™ synchronous valve stem hot runner system, which has proven to significantly extend gate life and improve gate quality.
Highly intelligent feature set
With a more intelligent, intuitive feature set, ALTANIUM MATRIX2™ has advanced monitoring capability to further eliminate the risk of bad parts entering the downstream process. Integrated mold protection prevents material degradation and addresses issues before part quality is compromised to increase uptime and reduce risk during operation. Real-time power deviation monitoring enables ALTANIUM MATRIX2™ to automatically detect signs of plastic leakage and heater failure. In addition, ALTANIUM MATRIX2™ supports network connectivity and closer integration with other Husky products for a more complete system, including remote monitoring.
Reliable and economical to maintain
All ALTANIUM® models, including ALTANIUM NEO2™, ALTANIUM DELTA3™ and ALTANIUM MATRIX2™ use the same control card to maximize interchangeability and reduce the number of parts to stock and maintain. The integrated control card design maximizes system reliability by minimizing connections and components. ALTANIUM® control cards are also simple and inexpensive to upgrade, contributing to lower operating costs while allowing for greater flexibility to grow with changing production needs.
