    • Husky World Tour stops in Brazil – Reinforces company’s commitment to providing local products, services and support to help customers maximize productivity and reduce variability

      Release 2013-05-29

São Paolo, Brazil - On May 14, 2013, Husky Injection Molding Systems hosted its first South American stop on the Husky World Tour 2013 – a Beverage Packaging Conference at its Technical Center in São Paolo, Brazil. More than 130 business leaders representing over 70 different companies gathered together to learn about the latest innovations and challenges in the beverage packaging industry.

The one-day event included networking opportunities and presentations from Husky and industry experts, including guest speakers Paulo Villas, Packaging Supply Chain Manager and Lucas Amendola, Chemical Engineer from Coca-Cola Brazil, highlighting current and upcoming industry trends. The event kicked off with a presentation from John Galt, Husky’s President and CEO, emphasizing the company’s commitment to supporting customers in South America and addressing what future developments the industry can expect to see from Husky.

“We are diligently working, both independently and with our customers, to develop a more sophisticated understanding of waste and how it affects the total cost to produce,” said Galt. “The competitiveness of today’s packaging market demands thinking about manufacturing solutions beyond simply output per capital. This event was a great opportunity to connect with customers to share the various tools we offer to improve their operations, from the application level to factory planning, as well as get their insights into what they need to be more competitive.”

Husky also presented its comprehensive range of products and services to help beverage packaging customers increase productivity, reduce waste and lower production costs. Some of the key products highlighted include Husky’s H-PET AE™ system for lower volume preform manufacturing, HyCAP™ system for the high output production of beverage closures, as well as mold conversions and aftermarket services to help preform manufacturers keep their operations running at peak efficiency.

“We appreciate being invited to attend the magnificent event organized by Husky at their facility in São Paolo, Brazil,” said José Agustin Moscoso, CEO of Plastiglas from El Salvador. “It was extremely valuable to have access to so many key Husky people together. They were eager to share their knowledge with attendees, showed interest in learning about our business and pointed out what Husky offers to successfully support customers.”

South America has long been an important market for Husky. Recent investments to enhance regional support include increased accessibility to service specialists, as well as the addition of local, dedicated PET experts. To further reduce customer downtime, Husky is working to improve spare parts ordering and delivery by increasing inventory in the region. To help customers achieve the highest level of productivity from their installed base of equipment, Husky is also offering increased services to help customers identify opportunities to eliminate waste and is making significant investments to its Aftermarket Services organization.

The Husky World Tour 2013 is a series of global customer events taking place throughout the year in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. With multiple local events spanning the globe, the tour gives current and prospective customers more direct access to Husky’s latest technologies at a local level while providing targeted solutions to help customers reduce variability, improve part cost and increase productivity. Several events are being held throughout the month of June, including a North American Caps and Closures Conference at Husky’s global headquarters in Bolton, Ontario, Canada, a Beverage Packaging Conference in Istanbul, Turkey and a Hot Runners Conference in Chicago, United States.
