    • Showcasing upgrade programs to help customers get the most out of their existing PET systems at NPE 2012

      Release 2012-04-02

ORLANDO, Florida - Husky Injection Molding Systems today announced that at NPE 2012 (April 2 – 5, Orlando, Florida) it is showcasing its range of services and capabilities that enable PET customers to improve the performance of their installed systems and increase preform quality. Husky’s system-level approach to improving operating efficiency, productivity and part-cost is unique in the industry and offers a compelling way for customers to improve their overall profitability.

“Husky offers customers completely integrated, high performance manufacturing solutions that provide significant advantages over solutions that address each part of the workcell separately,” said Craig Reynolds, Director of Business Development for PET. “Husky applies the same integrated, system level approach to helping customers who are looking for ways to maximize the performance of their existing equipment and extend its life.”

Husky’s understanding of the entire injection molding system allows the company to combine system-level enhancements with tooling upgrades in order to maximize productivity and efficiency gains. Depending on the age of a customer’s equipment, the areas within the system that are upgraded and the type of application being produced, upgrades can deliver productivity improvements that can more than double output.

As the industry’s largest manufacturer of preform molds, Husky has the scale and expertise to offer a fast and reliable way for customers to improve the performance of their existing PET manufacturing equipment. Husky’s comprehensive tooling and service offering for PET customers includes refurbishment as well as conversion and replacement of cold halves and molds. Its tooling components incorporate leading-edge technology which allows customers to produce the highest quality preforms while saving money through lightweighting. For example, Husky’s EcoBase preform design provides weight savings of up to 2.5% without any impact on the bottle’s mechanical integrity.

Husky also offers a range of structured upgrade and preventative maintenance plans such as its Encore program and Pro-Act services to keep equipment running at peak efficiency for the life of the system.
