Husky helps customers avoid unplanned downtime with SmartService
For release 2007-10-24
DÜSSELDORF, Germany – Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd. today announced the launch of SmartService, the latest addition to its expanding line of preventative, diagnostic tools and services. SmartService reduces downtime by monitoring machine performance, identifying trends and predicting problems before they become issues. It also helps determine the optimal operating conditions for running Husky machines at peak performance.
SmartService offers customers the peace of mind of knowing that Husky experts are monitoring their machines. It is part of Husky’s Complete Asset Management suite of solutions and leverages its years of experience in the injection molding industry.
“SmartService is part of Husky’s commitment to providing customers with the lowest total cost of ownership,” said Keith Boss, Vice President, Parts and Service. “SmartService can help customers run at the highest level of productivity while avoiding costly unplanned downtime. For most customers, the payback for this service is clear – avoiding even one day of downtime will pay for the annual cost of SmartService.”
Built on Husky’s proven ServiceLink and SmartLink technology, SmartService uses on-machine sensors for active trend analysis. Real-time data is remotely collected 24 hours a day, seven days a week and reported back to Husky call center technicians for trend monitoring. Condition monitoring techniques detect anomalies in key variables such as oil condition, hydraulic seal performance, pump and motor efficiency or machine parameter variances. This data is then reported to customers on a monthly basis, or as required, with recommended actions. In addition, our technicians work with customers on ways to improve productivity based on data collected from years of testing and monitoring injection molding machines.
Husky also offers ServiceLink and SmartLink as standalone tools. Customers can diagnose problems, connect with Husky technicians and quickly find solutions using ServiceLink. They can also monitor their own machines using Husky’s factory monitoring system, SmartLink.
