    • Husky to unveil new hot runner technologies at K-2007

      For release 2007-08-02

DUDELANGE, Luxembourg -- Husky Injection Molding Systems (TSX: HKY) today announced the complete line-up of hot runner and tooling solutions it will introduce at K-2007, October 24-31, 2007 in Dusseldorf. They will be a critical part of the full range of innovative products and services Husky will present at the show. Husky will be located in Hall 13 at stand A59.

Improved part quality for tight access applications with Ultra 350

An expanded Ultra 350 nozzle product line will be introduced, with valve gate and hot tip options available. Designed for ultra-compact, multi-cavity production of small parts such as medical applications, the Ultra 350 offers direct gating into difficult to reach areas with distance between nozzles of as little as 18 mm and throughput of up to 30 grams per second.

Industry's fastest color change with the UltraFlow valve gate

The patented UltraFlow valve gate tip design provides superior melt homogeneity for a high quality surface finish that is free of flow lines, as well as the fastest possible color change. This product is ideal for applications, such as closures, that require frequent color change and uncompromised gate quality.

Ultra 500 valve gate for high pressure molding

Husky will be unveiling a new option for the Ultra 500 valve gate. This patent pending design will be well suited for applications, such as consumer electronics components, that require injection pressure of up to 3000 bar and tight pitch spacing.

Optimized back-to-back valve gate technology for reduced shut height

New back-to-back Ultra 500 and 750 valve gate options will offer shut height of less than 195 mm for configurations up to 2 x 8-drops. They will be ideally suited for high throughput manufacturing requirements.

      New hot runner temperature controllers

Husky will be showcasing Altanium controllers with increased functionality and new features to improve ease of use. With the recent acquisition of these products, Husky continues to expand its hot runner and tooling product portfolio.

“Husky is a leading provider of hot runners and tooling for the injection molding industry,” said Keith Carlton, Husky's Vice President, Hot Runners and PET Molds. “The investments we continue to make in this strategic area of our business provide customers with innovative solutions designed specifically to meet their unique manufacturing requirements.”
