NOVI, MI — Husky Injection Molding Systems has formed a new hot runners team, based at the company's Detroit Technical Center, to better meet the needs of automotive molders and mold makers.

"Speed is a key requirement in the automotive industry," said Rich Sieradzki, Husky's Vice President of Service and Sales for North America. "So, we've brought hot runner designers to the marketplace. The benefits for our automotive customers include faster deliveries, improved quality and better overall responsiveness from their hot runner supplier."

Husky has been supplying hot runners to the automotive industry for more than 15 years, making systems for interior, exterior and under-the-hood applications. All design work was previously done at Husky's hot runner facility in Milton, Vt., which will continue to provide manufacturing support to the new team.

"We now have the necessary resources at our Detroit Technical Center to provide customers in the automotive industry with a full range of products and services at the speed they require," said Adam Domurat, Husky's Business Manager for Automotive Hot Runners. "We have designers and project engineers who are completely focused on automotive projects. And, we're literally within a short drive of most of the automotive molders and mold makers in the Detroit area."

Husky offers hot runner solutions for a wide range of automotive applications and part sizes. Fully configurable, quick-delivery Pronto systems address the need for fast project turnaround - final prints are available within five working days, while systems are ready for delivery within three to four weeks. For large parts, Husky offers the Ultra 1750 automotive nozzle that features hydraulic valve gate cylinders and throughputs of up to 2,000 grams per second.

The new hot runner team complements Husky's growing global automotive business. The Detroit Technical Center has become a development hub for the company's automotive customers - the facility has supported more than 250 customer mold tests in the past 12 months alone. The new team also provides support to Husky's other main hot runner operations in Europe and China.
